Highlander is a Double Winner in The 2014 Herald Scottish Family Business Awards
24 February 2015
Highlander are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the International Growth Award and the Small and Medium Family Business of the Year Award, which was supported by Clydesdale Bank.
The Judges were impressed with our ambitions as well as our success at winning high profile contracts to produce merchandise for both the London 2012 Olympics and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Our strong social commitment also caught the attention of the judges. We regularly contribute to various groups and charities, including fresh2o - Water for life, the John Muir Trust, and Britain on Foot.
The event ceremony, which was held in association with Business Gateway, took place at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow in front of over 300 guests. Competition was high with a record number of entries including 34 finalists. Highlander triumphed against long established Scottish businesses such as A Hume Clothing, Valvona & Crolla and S Collins & Son.
Alastair Christmas, from Clydesdale had this to say about us: “Each of the entries deserves to be recognised, but special congratulations go to Highlander, worthy winners of the small to medium sized business of the year award.” Everyone here at Highlander is delighted, our belief is in high quality and good value has been the driving force behind the company for 30 years.
We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer, and it shouldn’t cost a fortune to do so.
